During the three-month fishing season, James gets up at dawn to catch fish and sell them at the local market. He saves what money he can, and once he has enough, he and Maxwell go to school. But when the money runs out, as it often does, they are forced to drop out.

Directed by the Academy Award-winning director of Born into Brothels and edited by Emmy nominated director, Jeremiah Zagar, Brothers is the story of James and his younger brother Maxwell.

Brothers was one of four films in the 'Every Child Belongs in School' series. The series aimed to raise awareness of the fact that millions of children are deprived of an education and money to support many more vulnerable children to go to school.
